Horizontal Container Shear
High-Output Horizontal Box Shear for Heavy Steel Scrap
The DILOYA Horizontal Container Shear uses a box-style receiving chamber to contain, compress and shear bulky steel scrap in a planned production sequence. Its horizontal layout is intended for high-volume scrap yards that need strong cutting performance while using the available site area efficiently. Heavy plate, structural sections and other compatible ferrous scrap are assessed against chamber dimensions and cutting force.

Description
The DILOYA Horizontal Container Shear is a box-style hydraulic scrap shear designed for substantial volumes of compatible ferrous feed. Scrap is loaded into a receiving chamber rather than presented piece by piece to an exposed alligator jaw. The enclosed feed path helps contain irregular material and organize a repeatable sequence of loading, pre-compression and cutting.
1> Heavy-Scrap Workflow
A grab or other suitable loading system places prepared steel scrap in the chamber. Depending on the model, a lid or pusher compacts the charge, advances it toward the cutting opening and a hydraulic blade shears it into specified lengths. Finished pieces discharge for sorting, transport or furnace preparation. Exact cylinder arrangement and sequence must be checked in the selected machine specification.
2> Material and Capacity
Potential feed includes heavy steel offcuts, plate, beams, channels and structural scrap that fall within the rated chamber and shear-force range. Maximum thickness, grade, piece geometry, contamination and loading method strongly affect throughput. Oversized or very hard objects should not be assumed acceptable. High output is a design goal, not a fixed tonnage promise; the achievable rate depends on feedstock, cut length and full cycle time.
3> Efficient Yard Planning
The horizontal box arrangement can offer an efficient footprint relative to the volume handled, but the complete site plan must include grab travel, feed stockpiles, discharge, service access and safety zones. DILOYA can size chamber length, cutting force, hydraulic power, controls and cooling to the customer's material samples and target production schedule.
Advantage
> Box-style receiving chamber: contains bulky, irregular steel scrap during feeding and cutting.
> High-volume workflow: loading, compression, advance and shearing can be coordinated for continuous yard operation.
> Efficient equipment footprint: the horizontal arrangement helps plan output against available site space.
> Heavy ferrous scope: suitable plate and structural scrap can be reduced to manageable lengths.
> Controlled discharge: cut pieces leave through a defined outlet for downstream handling.
> Engineering flexibility: chamber, force, power, cooling and controls are matched to real feed and output targets.

Application
The DILOYA HCS Series horizontal container shear mainly cut below materials:

Light Scrap Metal
Light scrap metal includes thin-gauge steel sheet, press-shop offcuts, panels and other bulky ferrous pieces. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress this loose, springy material into dense rectangular bales for controlled storage, efficient loading and economical transport. This application is intended for baling only.

Heavy Scrap Metal
Heavy scrap metal includes thick steel plate, beams, channels, pipe, fabrication offcuts and dismantled machinery structures. DILOYA hydraulic scrap shears pre-compress and cut this oversized ferrous material into controlled furnace-ready lengths for safer stockpiling, efficient loading and reliable downstream melting. This application is intended for shearing only.

Steel Bar
Steel bar scrap includes reinforcing bar, round bar, bent rod, short offcuts and tangled demolition rebar. DILOYA processes long or rigid bars with hydraulic scrap shears for controlled cut lengths, while shorter and bendable material can be compressed into dense transport bales with hydraulic metal balers. The correct route is selected from bar diameter, length, condition and downstream requirements.

Aluminium Profiles
Aluminium profiles and extrusion offcuts are long, hollow and difficult to stack efficiently. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress window frames, structural sections and production offcuts into dense, stable bales for safer handling, lower storage and transport costs, and consistent delivery to aluminium recyclers and remelting plants.

Stainless Steel Scrap
Stainless steel scrap includes sorted sheet offcuts, press skeletons, wire, mesh and light fabrication remnants. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress this valuable but bulky material into dense, stable bales while supporting grade separation, safer handling, compact storage and efficient shipment to stainless recyclers and melting plants. This application is intended for baling only.

Aluminium Wires
Aluminium wire scrap is long, flexible and easily tangled, making loose material difficult to stack, load and transport. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress clean aluminium wires and cable conductors into dense, stable rectangular bales for safer handling, compact storage and efficient delivery to aluminium recyclers and remelting plants.
FAQ
Why do some scrap shears include pre-compression?+
Pre-compression can reduce the uncontrolled volume of bulky scrap and help present it to the cutting zone. Its purpose is material control, not permission to cut stronger sections. A large chamber, compression sequence and cutting head must be compatible with the same feed envelope; specifying each independently can create a bottleneck.
The benefit depends on scrap geometry and the selected shear design. It does not remove the need to respect section-strength and size limits. Chamber volume, compression sequence and cutting capacity should be matched together rather than specified independently.
Which ferrous scrap can be considered for hydraulic shearing?+
Describe ferrous scrap by grade, section and condition rather than simply calling it steel. Plate, pipe, profiles and mixed fabricated pieces can require different presentation and control. Alligator Shear and Vertical Gantry Shear should be evaluated against explicit approved sections; neither product category establishes unrestricted cutting capability.
Send information about the actual scrap stream rather than describing it only as steel. The proposed machine should have a clear accepted-material specification, including exclusions and any preparation required before loading.
How does loading affect shear productivity?+
A shear only produces when approved scrap is ready for the next cut and the discharge route is available. Repositioning awkward pieces or removing rejected loads can dominate the elapsed cycle. Measure loading effort with the real material-handler arrangement instead of inferring production from the speed of an unloaded cutting stroke.
Define the loading arrangement and operating area as part of selection. Compare output under realistic feeding conditions, including any preparation and collection steps. A no-load stroke rate is not equivalent to processed tonnes per hour.
What is the correct way to compare scrap-shear output?+
Compare accepted tonnes per elapsed hour using the same scrap mix and output-size requirement. A short-cut requirement can involve a different number of cuts from a longer one, while light bulky feed changes mass per cycle. State these conditions with the result so two capacity figures actually describe comparable work.
Report both the material description and the test boundary. A stroke-per-minute figure describes machine motion; a tonne-per-hour figure describes accepted mass over time. They are not interchangeable.
Where the proposed line includes pre-compression, loading and discharge, include their effect instead of presenting cutting time alone as complete production.
Output is strongly affected by material density and geometry. A machine cutting light bulky scrap may show a different mass rate from one cutting compact sections. Meaningful guarantees need defined feed conditions and an agreed measurement method.
How is the finished cutting length selected?+
Choose the finished length from the receiver's acceptance specification, then establish how the feeding arrangement can achieve it with irregular scrap. Maximum permissible size and preferred average size are not necessarily the same requirement. Agree allowed variation and the measurement method rather than treating a selected feed increment as a promise of identical pieces.
- Obtain the receiving process's maximum and preferred dimensions.
- Identify the feed geometries the machine must handle.
- Confirm the selected feeding and length-control method.
- Agree permitted variation and how irregular pieces are assessed.
- Test representative output where consistency is essential.
Confirm any allowable tolerance and the expected variation for irregular scrap. A target length does not guarantee identical pieces when feed geometry varies. Test representative material if output-size consistency is critical.
