Mini Alligator Shear

Compact Movable Alligator Shear for Light Scrap

The DILOYA Mini Alligator Shear is a compact, movable hydraulic cutting machine for light and relatively thin scrap. It helps workshops and collection points cut small-diameter cable and wire, aluminium profiles, copper tube and other suitable non-ferrous offcuts into manageable lengths. The machine is selected according to material cross-section, wall thickness and cutting-force requirements.

Description

The DILOYA Mini Alligator Shear is a small hydraulic guillotine-style shear with the familiar pivoting jaw of an alligator shear. It is intended for light-duty scrap preparation where a large stationary machine would be unnecessary. Typical feed includes small-diameter cable or wire, light aluminium extrusions, copper tube and thin metal offcuts, provided that each piece fits the jaw opening and rated cutting force.

1> Where It Fits

Its compact footprint makes the mini shear useful at machining workshops, non-ferrous scrap collection points and material sorting stations with limited floor space. The unit can be repositioned within a site when its model, transport method and electrical or hydraulic connections permit. Movable does not mean handheld or safe to operate without a stable working position.

2> Cutting and Material Selection

Operators feed sorted pieces into the cutting mouth, secure them using the machine's hold-down arrangement where fitted, and cycle the hydraulic blade to shorten the scrap for bins, downstream processing or shipment. Cable construction, aluminium alloy, copper-tube wall thickness and the dimensions of each piece affect cut quality and capacity. Representative samples should be assessed before choosing a model; energized cable and unsuitable hazardous items must never be fed to the machine.

3> Specify the Right Mini Shear

DILOYA can match blade length, jaw opening, hydraulic force, power supply, guarding and mobility arrangement to the customer's scrap mix and operating schedule. Buyers should confirm safe loading height, maintenance clearance and local workplace requirements as well as price and footprint.

Advantage

> Compact footprint: fits smaller workshops and sorting areas where a full-size shear would occupy too much space.

> Site mobility: suitable models can be relocated between work positions with appropriate handling and connections.

> Economical light-duty option: avoids specifying a large production shear for modest volumes of thin scrap.

> Targeted non-ferrous preparation: cuts suitable wire, cable, aluminium sections and copper tube into easier-to-handle lengths.

> Simple hydraulic cutting cycle: a defined jaw and blade action supports repeatable small-batch work.

> Application-based sizing: opening, blade length and cutting force are chosen from actual material dimensions, not nominal metal type alone.

Application

The DILOYA MSZ series Alligator shear can cut below materials:

Pile of loose aluminium extrusion profile offcuts

Aluminium Profiles

Aluminium profiles and extrusion offcuts are long, hollow and difficult to stack efficiently. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress window frames, structural sections and production offcuts into dense, stable bales for safer handling, lower storage and transport costs, and consistent delivery to aluminium recyclers and remelting plants.

Loose tangled aluminium wire scrap before baling

Aluminium Wires

Aluminium wire scrap is long, flexible and easily tangled, making loose material difficult to stack, load and transport. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress clean aluminium wires and cable conductors into dense, stable rectangular bales for safer handling, compact storage and efficient delivery to aluminium recyclers and remelting plants.

Loose stainless steel tubes and fabrication offcuts

Stainless Steel Scrap

Stainless steel scrap includes sorted sheet offcuts, press skeletons, wire, mesh and light fabrication remnants. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress this valuable but bulky material into dense, stable bales while supporting grade separation, safer handling, compact storage and efficient shipment to stainless recyclers and melting plants. This application is intended for baling only.

Loose copper wire bundles and stripped cable conductors

Copper Wire

Copper wire scrap includes bare millberry wire, stripped cable, winding wire and flexible conductors that are springy and difficult to store loose. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress clean wire into dense rectangular bales for secure inventory, efficient handling, compact storage and economical shipment. This Copper&Brass Scrap application is intended for baling only.

Mixed light-gauge metal scrap and compact bales in a recycling yard

Light Scrap Metal

Light scrap metal includes thin-gauge steel sheet, press-shop offcuts, panels and other bulky ferrous pieces. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress this loose, springy material into dense rectangular bales for controlled storage, efficient loading and economical transport. This application is intended for baling only.

FAQ

When is a movable scrap shear useful?+

A movable shear is useful when location flexibility is worth the repeated transport and setup effort. Assess that total process against a stationary loading point, including power, support, access and inspection after positioning. The ability to relocate equipment does not remove the need for an approved operating area.

Compare relocation method, setup requirements, power arrangements, site support and maintenance access. Mobility does not remove the need for an approved operating area. Confirm how the proposed machine is transported, positioned and prepared before each period of use.

Can a hydraulic shear process copper or aluminium scrap?+

Copper and aluminium scrap may be suitable for a particular shear, but their deformation and handling can differ from the steel duty used in a reference rating. Define alloy, shape and required output quality. Keep commercial grade separation in the assessment as well as mechanical capability, particularly where the cut material goes to a controlled recycling stream.

Confirm the exact alloy and geometry and consider grade separation. A shear chosen for steel should not be assumed optimised for every non-ferrous duty. Trial cutting can help establish output quality and practical handling where the requirement is unusual.

How much cutting force does my material require?+

Cutting force must be assessed from the actual cross-section and material, not its outside dimensions alone. A hollow tube and a solid bar of the same diameter create different duties. Supply the difficult normal sections and known material properties so the proposed shear can be assessed as a complete blade, structure and hydraulic combination.

  • Material grade or known strength.
  • Solid, hollow or built-up cross-section.
  • Maximum wall or plate thickness and width.
  • How the piece is presented to the blades.
  • Required cut length and sustained production.

Provide section drawings, thickness, alloy and maximum dimensions. The machine supplier should define approved material limits for the selected shear. Avoid treating a force number as permission to cut any object that fits.

Can one maximum-thickness figure describe every shear application?+

No single thickness figure covers every material and section. A plate rating without width or grade leaves out part of the cutting problem, just as tube diameter leaves out wall thickness. Ask for the reference section behind the rating and the approved limits for your scrap before assuming equivalent capability.

Why geometry matters: a tube's outside diameter does not describe its wall thickness, and a plate's thickness does not describe its width. A rating based on one reference section cannot be transferred directly to a different shape.

Submit the largest and most demanding normal sections, including drawings where available, for an application-specific assessment.

Ask what reference material and geometry support the rating. For mixed scrap, identify the difficult sections and assess them explicitly. The approved operating envelope is more useful than a single headline maximum.

Which objects need exclusion or special assessment before shearing?+

Hazardous or unidentified objects must be segregated before the cutting stage. A metal exterior does not establish that a container is empty, depressurised or free of reactive contents. The approved scrap specification and site acceptance procedure should also exclude sections outside the machine's strength and dimensional limits.

Also identify objects outside the approved strength or dimensional limits. Material inspection and the site's acceptance procedure are part of safe scrap preparation. Never use the shear to discover what an unidentified object contains.
