Description
The DILOYA Side Push-Out Metal Baler is a hydraulic scrap compactor designed to turn loose metal into dense, rectangular bales. A side-ejection mechanism pushes the finished bale out of the compression chamber, allowing it to be collected for weighing, storage, transport or further recycling. It is intended for operations that need repeatable bale formation and an orderly discharge path without manually lifting the bale from the chamber.
1> How Side Push-Out Baling Works
Operators load sorted scrap into the receiving chamber by grab, crane, conveyor or another suitable feeding method. The chamber lid closes and hydraulic cylinders compress the charge in stages to reduce void space. After final compression, the outlet opens and a hydraulic ram pushes the formed bale through the side discharge. The cylinders then return to their starting positions for the next charge. The precise ram sequence and level of automation depend on the selected machine configuration.
2> Suitable Scrap Materials
Typical feedstock includes light and medium steel offcuts, sheet metal, stamping waste, wire, cans, aluminium profiles, copper scrap and stainless steel offcuts. Material suitability depends on piece size, thickness, hardness, bulk density and contamination. Oversized solid sections, sealed containers and other hazardous or unsuitable items should be separated and assessed before loading. Where long or heavy scrap must be cut, a shear baler may be more appropriate than a compaction-only baler.
3> Why Compress Metal Scrap?
Loose scrap contains substantial air space and is difficult to stack or load consistently. Hydraulic baling reduces its occupied volume and creates packages with more predictable dimensions. This can improve yard organization, forklift and grab handling, truck or container utilization, stock counting and delivery to a downstream recycler or remelting facility. Actual bale density and throughput vary with the feedstock and machine setup.
4> Machine Selection and Configuration
DILOYA configures chamber dimensions, hydraulic force, bale size, discharge arrangement, motor power, controls and cooling around the customer's material and operating conditions. Useful selection data includes scrap grade, largest piece dimensions, loose density, desired bale dimensions, target hourly capacity, feeding equipment, power supply and available floor space. A material sample or representative photos help confirm whether a side push-out baler is the right choice.
5> Typical Applications
The machine can serve scrap yards, metal recovery centers, fabrication workshops, stamping plants, beverage-can collection facilities and other sites handling suitable loose metal. Keeping different metal grades separate before baling helps maintain bale consistency and supports inspection and trading. The finished bales can be moved to storage, shipped to a recycling partner or prepared for a controlled furnace-charging process where the receiving plant permits it.
Advantage
> Side push-out discharge: a hydraulic ram ejects the finished bale through a side outlet, reducing manual handling at the chamber.
> Staged hydraulic compression: coordinated lid, side and main cylinders compact loose scrap into a more regular package.
> Space-efficient output: rectangular bales are easier to stack, count and store than scattered loose material.
> Improved logistics: consistent bale dimensions support forklift handling and more orderly truck or container loading.
> Material flexibility: the configured chamber can process common light and medium ferrous scrap and selected non-ferrous grades after a suitability review.
> Repeatable operation: PLC control and operating-mode options can coordinate compression and discharge for the intended workflow.
> Wear and maintenance planning: chamber liners, hydraulic components and service access can be specified for the expected scrap condition and duty cycle.
> Project-specific configuration: chamber size, force, bale dimensions, power, cooling and feeding arrangements can be matched to the site rather than chosen from a nominal capacity alone.

Application
The DILOYA CM Series baler can process below materials:

Aluminium Chips
Aluminium Chips are precision-processed from pure aluminum and aluminum alloy via CNC turning and milling. Strictly sorted, cleaned and dried, these chips feature uniform shape, low oxidation and zero sundry impurities. As premium recycled aluminum raw materials, they deliver stable metallurgical and physical properties, ideal for aluminum smelting, alloy production, chemical processing and thermal conduction applications with high cost performance.

Aluminium Turnings
Aluminium Turnings are lightweight, spiral-shaped metal chips generated during machining, drilling and milling. DILOYA briquetting and baling systems compact loose turnings into dense, manageable blocks, helping reduce storage volume, improve transport efficiency and support aluminium recovery.

Aluminium Profiles
Aluminium profiles and extrusion offcuts are long, hollow and difficult to stack efficiently. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress window frames, structural sections and production offcuts into dense, stable bales for safer handling, lower storage and transport costs, and consistent delivery to aluminium recyclers and remelting plants.

Aluminium Scrap
General aluminium scrap includes sheet offcuts, stampings, thin-gauge trimmings and mixed clean production pieces. DILOYA hydraulic aluminium scrap balers compress this loose material into dense, stable bales for efficient storage, safer handling, economical transport and consistent delivery to recycling and remelting plants.

Aluminium Wires
Aluminium wire scrap is long, flexible and easily tangled, making loose material difficult to stack, load and transport. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress clean aluminium wires and cable conductors into dense, stable rectangular bales for safer handling, compact storage and efficient delivery to aluminium recyclers and remelting plants.

Aluminium UBC
Aluminium UBC consists of lightweight used beverage cans collected from municipal, commercial and deposit-return streams. DILOYA hydraulic UBC balers compress sorted cans into dense, stable and stackable bales for efficient storage, economical transport and consistent delivery to aluminium can recycling and remelting plants.

Light Scrap Metal
Light scrap metal includes thin-gauge steel sheet, press-shop offcuts, panels and other bulky ferrous pieces. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress this loose, springy material into dense rectangular bales for controlled storage, efficient loading and economical transport. This application is intended for baling only.

Stainless Steel Scrap
Stainless steel scrap includes sorted sheet offcuts, press skeletons, wire, mesh and light fabrication remnants. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress this valuable but bulky material into dense, stable bales while supporting grade separation, safer handling, compact storage and efficient shipment to stainless recyclers and melting plants. This application is intended for baling only.

Steel Bar
Steel bar scrap includes reinforcing bar, round bar, bent rod, short offcuts and tangled demolition rebar. DILOYA processes long or rigid bars with hydraulic scrap shears for controlled cut lengths, while shorter and bendable material can be compressed into dense transport bales with hydraulic metal balers. The correct route is selected from bar diameter, length, condition and downstream requirements.

Steel Shavings
Steel shavings are long, curled machining residues that interlock into bulky nests and retain cutting fluid. DILOYA can compress foldable shavings directly into rectangular transport bales, or shred long tangled nests into short uniform feed before hydraulic briquetting. Process selection depends on shaving geometry, fluid content, required density and downstream furnace specifications.

Copper Wire
Copper wire scrap includes bare millberry wire, stripped cable, winding wire and flexible conductors that are springy and difficult to store loose. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress clean wire into dense rectangular bales for secure inventory, efficient handling, compact storage and economical shipment. This Copper&Brass Scrap application is intended for baling only.
FAQ
How do side-push, forward-out and turn-out bale discharge differ?+
Discharge direction determines where the receiving equipment and working clearance must be located. Side Push-Out Metal Baler, Forward-Out Metal Baler and Side Turn-Out Metal Baler illustrate distinct arrangements. Compare them against a scale yard layout, including the moving envelope and bale collection route, rather than choosing a preferred name before checking access.
- Side-push: assess the receiving area beside the machine.
- Forward-out: plan the collection route in the discharge direction.
- Turn-out: confirm the full moving and receiving envelope.
Use the actual arrangement drawing because names alone do not establish clearances or the approved collection sequence.
Select discharge around the yard layout and bale-handling method, not the name alone. Confirm the approved working envelope, bale support and machine sequence in the arrangement drawing. A preferred discharge direction is only practical if the receiving area can handle the package safely.
Which materials can a hydraulic metal baler process?+
A hydraulic metal baler is selected for a defined scrap envelope, not for “metal” in general. Thin sheet, wire coils and solid sections behave differently during loading and compression. Begin with alloy, geometry and the most demanding normal pieces. How to Match Material Size, Press Chamber Dimensions and Bale Requirements When Selecting a Metal Baler? explains why feed dimensions and the required bale must be considered together.
Provide the largest dimensions, thickness, alloy and contamination level. A machine selected for light sheet cannot automatically accept heavy solid sections. Ask for the approved feed specification rather than assuming all scrap metal is suitable.
How do I select the charging-chamber size?+
Size the chamber around how the scrap actually arrives. A large sheet skeleton may bridge an opening even when its weight is low, whereas short offcuts may fill efficiently. Check the useful loading envelope, batch presentation and bale specification together. How to Match Material Size, Press Chamber Dimensions and Bale Requirements When Selecting a Metal Baler? develops this selection problem beyond nominal chamber dimensions.
- Largest normal scrap dimensions and awkward shapes.
- Loading-machine reach and batch size.
- Useful chamber volume for bulky material.
- Preparation needed for oversized pieces.
- Finished-bale dimensions and the pressing sequence.
Consider the loading machine, typical batch size and whether incoming pieces require preparation. A large chamber may reduce loading frequency, but it must be matched to pressing force, cycle time and the required bale. Send maximum dimensions as well as average feed size.
Why does bale weight vary with the same machine?+
Bale mass changes because the package contains different metal and void proportions from one batch to another. A common chamber size cannot make aluminium and steel bales weigh the same. If a buyer requires a narrow mass range, combine a defined material stream with a repeatable loading method and appropriate weighing; do not rely on how full the chamber looks.
If the sale or handling limit depends on mass, establish an appropriate weighing method. A visually full chamber is not a weighing system.
State whether bale mass or dimensions are the main receiving requirement. Trials can establish a practical weight range for the actual scrap. Consistent loading and material separation improve repeatability, but a general catalogue weight should not be treated as universal.
How should finished metal bales be matched to transport and handling?+
Match the finished bale to the whole journey: lifting, storage, vehicle loading and receiver acceptance. A dense bale may still be impractical if it is too heavy for site equipment or its released dimensions do not suit the loading arrangement. Use an actual package and loading plan rather than deriving a universal shipment weight from chamber size.
Include post-discharge stability and spring-back in the assessment. Container or vehicle loading must consider actual package geometry and permitted load conditions. Do not promise a universal shipment weight from bale size without a complete loading plan.
