Description

The DILOYA Integrated Briquetting Press brings the principal steps of metal-chip briquetting into a coordinated system. Prepared chips are fed to the press, compacted hydraulically without melting and discharged as repeatable briquettes. An integrated layout can reduce hand-offs between separate machines and simplify control of the chip-recovery process at machining plants and recycling facilities.

1> From Loose Chips to Briquettes

Sorted aluminium, copper, brass, cast-iron and other compatible chips enter through a hopper or specified conveyor. The feeding mechanism meters material into the compression chamber, the hydraulic ram forms a dense block, and the finished briquette is discharged for collection. PLC-controlled cycle options can coordinate feeding, pressing and discharge. A shredder, chip breaker, conveyor or fluid-collection system is included only when specified for the project; it should not be assumed to be standard equipment.

2> Material Preparation and Fluid Handling

Chip length, bulk density, alloy, oil or coolant content and contamination affect feeding and final briquette quality. Tangled turnings may require size reduction, while tramp metal and mixed alloys should be separated. Where the feed contains cutting fluid, compression may express part of it; a suitable collection and treatment arrangement should be designed around the actual fluid and site requirements. Recovery rate and final density must be verified with representative samples.

3> Choosing an Integrated System

DILOYA can configure feed method, chamber size, pressing force, briquette dimensions, hydraulic power, controls and optional upstream or downstream equipment according to material samples, hourly chip volume and available space. This makes the integrated press suitable for facilities seeking a defined, repeatable path from loose machining waste to recycling-ready packages rather than an uncoordinated set of manual handling steps.

Advantage

> Coordinated process: feeding, compression and discharge work as one briquetting sequence.

> Cold hydraulic compaction: forms briquettes without a melting stage.

> Reduced manual transfers: integrated handling can limit movement of loose chips between process steps.

> PLC control options: cycle settings can be matched to the selected feed and production schedule.

> Material flexibility: compatible aluminium, copper, brass and ferrous chips can be processed in separately sorted batches.

> Cleaner storage and transport: regular briquettes are easier to weigh, count and move than loose swarf.

> Modular auxiliaries: conveyors, chip breakers and fluid collection can be specified where material testing shows they are needed.

> Project-specific sizing: the press and feed system can be matched to real chip volume, material condition and site layout.

Application

The DLIOYA BPS Integrated briquetting press can process below materials:

Hand holding loose aluminium machining chips

Aluminium Chips

Aluminium Chips are precision-processed from pure aluminum and aluminum alloy via CNC turning and milling. Strictly sorted, cleaned and dried, these chips feature uniform shape, low oxidation and zero sundry impurities. As premium recycled aluminum raw materials, they deliver stable metallurgical and physical properties, ideal for aluminum smelting, alloy production, chemical processing and thermal conduction applications with high cost performance.

Loose curled aluminium turnings collected in a container

Aluminium Turnings

Aluminium Turnings are lightweight, spiral-shaped metal chips generated during machining, drilling and milling. DILOYA briquetting and baling systems compact loose turnings into dense, manageable blocks, helping reduce storage volume, improve transport efficiency and support aluminium recovery.

Loose chopped aluminium granules in a collection bin

Aluminium Granules

Aluminium granules are small, flowable particles produced by shredding, screening or size reduction. DILOYA aluminium granule briquetting machines compress this loose material into dense, consistent cylindrical blocks for cleaner handling, compact storage, economical transport and controlled furnace feeding.

Hand holding curled steel machining chips

Steel Chips

Steel chips from turning, milling, drilling and sawing are loose, oily and difficult to handle efficiently. DILOYA hydraulic briquetting presses compress carbon-steel, cast-iron and alloy-steel swarf into dense cylindrical briquettes, recovering part of the retained cutting fluid while improving storage, transport and furnace feeding. This application is intended for briquetting only.

Loose fine cast iron machining chips

Cast Iron Chips

Cast iron chips are fine, brittle machining residues that are abrasive, dusty and difficult to store or charge in loose form. DILOYA hydraulic briquetting presses compress grey-iron and ductile-iron swarf into dense cylindrical briquettes while recovering part of the retained cutting fluid for cleaner handling, efficient transport and controlled foundry feeding. This application is intended for briquetting only.

Loose curled steel shavings collected in a bulk bag

Steel Shavings

Steel shavings are long, curled machining residues that interlock into bulky nests and retain cutting fluid. DILOYA can compress foldable shavings directly into rectangular transport bales, or shred long tangled nests into short uniform feed before hydraulic briquetting. Process selection depends on shaving geometry, fluid content, required density and downstream furnace specifications.

Brass machining chips collected in a large bin

Brass Chips

Brass chips from machining valves, fittings and alloy components are loose, oily and difficult to transport efficiently. DILOYA hydraulic briquetting presses compress sorted brass swarf into dense binder-free cylinders, recovering part of the retained cutting fluid while improving grade control, storage, shipment and furnace charging. This Copper&Brass Scrap application is intended for briquetting only.

Hand holding loose copper machining chips

Copper Chips

Copper chips from turning, milling and drilling are valuable but bulky, oily and easy to lose during handling. DILOYA hydraulic briquetting presses compact separated copper machining chips into dense binder-free cylinders while recovering part of the retained fluid for efficient storage, shipment and remelting. This Copper&Brass Scrap application is intended for briquetting only.

Examples of loose copper granules and chopped copper particles

Copper Granules

Copper granules recovered from cable processing and wire chopping are valuable but easy to spill, oxidize and lose during handling. DILOYA hydraulic briquetting presses compact clean copper particles into dense binder-free cylinders for secure storage, efficient shipment, accurate weighing and controlled furnace charging. This Copper&Brass Scrap application is intended for briquetting only.

FAQ

What does a metal-chip briquetting press do?+

A metal-chip briquetting press converts approved prepared chips into compact units for more manageable collection and downstream use. The useful result is not just a dense-looking block: feeding reliability, retained fluid and receiver acceptance also matter. Vertical Briquetting Press provides equipment context, while Aluminium Chips Briquetting Line shows how the press fits into a wider aluminium-chip process.

The result depends on metal type, chip geometry, fluid condition and press configuration. Briquetting is not a substitute for sorting or removal of unsuitable contaminants, and finished briquettes must meet the receiving recycler or furnace requirements.

Why use a large screw buffer hopper?+

A screw buffer is valuable when it creates a usable working reserve between intermittent replenishment and press consumption. Its geometric volume is not its useful stored mass, especially with fluffy chips. Storage Screw Hopper should be sized around material flow and a realistic refill interval, not used to conceal a permanent shortage of upstream capacity.

Planning relationship: usable buffer mass depends on usable hopper volume and the actual loose bulk density. The same hopper therefore stores different masses of fluffy aluminium swarf and denser short chips.

Estimate the replenishment interval from that working reserve and the press's measured consumption. Leave the operating allowance specified for material flow and control rather than treating the geometric hopper volume as fully usable storage.

The usable volume, material flow and feed rate must match the actual chips. A buffer cannot compensate indefinitely if average upstream output is below press demand. Long tangled material may require preparation before entering the screw hopper.

How does variable-frequency screw feeding help a briquetting line?+

Variable-speed screw feeding helps coordinate delivery, but speed is not a direct mass-flow measurement. A change in chip density or screw fill can alter kilograms delivered at the same setting. Use an approved tuning method for the press; if the project needs accurate dosing, specify a suitable measuring and control arrangement separately.

  • Confirm the screw's approved speed range.
  • Check material movement at normal and low hopper levels.
  • Observe whether the press is starved or over-supplied.
  • Use only the approved coordination settings.
  • Add a specified measuring arrangement if accurate mass dosing is required.

Screw speed alone does not establish precise mass flow. Bulk density, fill level and chip geometry influence delivery. A weighing or closed-loop metering requirement needs additional specified equipment rather than being assumed from speed control.

Does briquetting recover all cutting fluid?+

Briquetting can separate liquid under suitable conditions, but “all cutting fluid” is not a defensible general promise. Distinguish the liquid collected, liquid retained in the briquette and the basis used for any percentage. A dry-looking surface does not quantify either recovery or remaining content.

Separate three different measurements: liquid initially carried with the chips, liquid collected by the machine, and liquid remaining in the finished material. A percentage based on one of these is not automatically comparable with a percentage based on another.

Measure incoming and outgoing material under an agreed test method. The objective may be cleaner handling, fluid collection or downstream acceptance, each requiring a defined criterion. A figure from another material or machine does not establish the result for your project.

What should a metal-chip briquetting trial measure?+

A useful briquetting trial links the incoming chips to the accepted result. Record alloy, chip form, fluid condition and preparation along with sustained output, briquette measurements and collection performance. Aluminium Chips Briquetting Machine illustrates why project figures should be attributed to their own feed rather than adopted as universal targets.

Record the complete trial

  • Metal, alloy, chip shape and bulk density.
  • Incoming liquid condition and any preparation stages.
  • Actual accepted briquette mass and dimensions.
  • Timed operating period and included handling tasks.
  • Fluid results using the agreed method, if required.
  • Interruptions, rejects and finished-product acceptance.

Inspect the finished blocks against the receiving specification and include realistic feeding conditions. A useful trial explains both product quality and sustained production, not only peak piece rate. Agree acceptance criteria before relying on a demonstration sample.
