Description

The DILOYA Vertical Metal Baler uses a reinforced, heavy-duty upright frame and vertical hydraulic compression to form large, heavy packages of recyclable metal. It is designed for waste aluminium, aluminium profiles, stainless steel scrap, copper scrap and aluminium beverage cans. This is a substantial metal-baling machine, not a small vertical baler intended only for low-volume light packaging waste. The large bale format helps recycling yards consolidate sorted material for storage, lifting, loading and delivery to downstream processors.

1> How Vertical Metal Baling Works

Prepared scrap is loaded into the chamber using equipment matched to the selected model. The vertical hydraulic ram descends to reduce void space and consolidate the material; further charging and pressing can build a large bale. Once the target package has been formed, the ram retracts and the bale is removed using the specified discharge and handling arrangement. Chamber access, tying, ejection and control sequence must be confirmed for the actual machine configuration.

2> Materials and Bale Quality

Waste aluminium and profiles, stainless steel offcuts, copper scrap and aluminium used beverage cans should be sorted by grade before baling. Material size, section thickness, hardness, springback and contamination affect the force required and the finished bale density. Long or oversized sections may need preparation before loading; sealed or hazardous items must be excluded. Final bale size and weight depend on the chamber, hydraulic force and feedstock, so they should be specified against the customer's handling and transport requirements.

3> Value of Large, Heavy Bales

High-volume loose metal scrap occupies yard space and creates inefficient loading. Large, heavy bales reduce the number of individual packages to handle, provide a more regular footprint for stacking and make material easier to weigh, count and prepare for shipment. The handling plan should account for the bale's actual mass, including suitable lifting equipment and safe stacking practice.

4> Model Selection

DILOYA should review the customer's material grades, largest pieces, target bale dimensions and weight, planned throughput, loading and lifting equipment, electrical supply, foundation and available headroom. Chamber dimensions, ram force, hydraulic power, controls, wear protection and bale removal can then be selected for the project. No single bale weight or production rate is appropriate for every feedstock and model.

Advantage

> Heavy-duty vertical structure: a reinforced upright frame supports demanding metal-baling duty.

> Large bale format: the chamber can be specified to form large, heavy packages for efficient bulk handling.

> Vertical hydraulic compression: top-down force consolidates prepared scrap into regular bales.

> Multiple recyclable metals: suitable waste aluminium, profiles, stainless steel, copper and aluminium cans can be baled after material review.

> Less loose storage: dense packages reduce scattered scrap and improve yard organization.

> Shipment planning: consistent dimensions and known bale weights simplify weighing, loading and inventory control.

> Grade separation: baling sorted materials separately helps maintain identifiable recycling streams.

> Site-specific configuration: chamber size, force, controls, wear protection and discharge method can be matched to the material and lifting plan.

Application

The DILOYA VBM Series vertical metal baler can press below materials:

Pile of loose aluminium extrusion profile offcuts

Aluminium Profiles

Aluminium profiles and extrusion offcuts are long, hollow and difficult to stack efficiently. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress window frames, structural sections and production offcuts into dense, stable bales for safer handling, lower storage and transport costs, and consistent delivery to aluminium recyclers and remelting plants.

Mixed loose aluminium sheet and fabrication scrap

Aluminium Scrap

General aluminium scrap includes sheet offcuts, stampings, thin-gauge trimmings and mixed clean production pieces. DILOYA hydraulic aluminium scrap balers compress this loose material into dense, stable bales for efficient storage, safer handling, economical transport and consistent delivery to recycling and remelting plants.

Loose stainless steel tubes and fabrication offcuts

Stainless Steel Scrap

Stainless steel scrap includes sorted sheet offcuts, press skeletons, wire, mesh and light fabrication remnants. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress this valuable but bulky material into dense, stable bales while supporting grade separation, safer handling, compact storage and efficient shipment to stainless recyclers and melting plants. This application is intended for baling only.

Loose aluminium used beverage cans before compaction

Aluminium UBC

Aluminium UBC consists of lightweight used beverage cans collected from municipal, commercial and deposit-return streams. DILOYA hydraulic UBC balers compress sorted cans into dense, stable and stackable bales for efficient storage, economical transport and consistent delivery to aluminium can recycling and remelting plants.

Loose tangled aluminium wire scrap before baling

Aluminium Wires

Aluminium wire scrap is long, flexible and easily tangled, making loose material difficult to stack, load and transport. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress clean aluminium wires and cable conductors into dense, stable rectangular bales for safer handling, compact storage and efficient delivery to aluminium recyclers and remelting plants.

Loose copper wire bundles and stripped cable conductors

Copper Wire

Copper wire scrap includes bare millberry wire, stripped cable, winding wire and flexible conductors that are springy and difficult to store loose. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress clean wire into dense rectangular bales for secure inventory, efficient handling, compact storage and economical shipment. This Copper&Brass Scrap application is intended for baling only.

FAQ

Which materials can a hydraulic metal baler process?+

A hydraulic metal baler is selected for a defined scrap envelope, not for “metal” in general. Thin sheet, wire coils and solid sections behave differently during loading and compression. Begin with alloy, geometry and the most demanding normal pieces. How to Match Material Size, Press Chamber Dimensions and Bale Requirements When Selecting a Metal Baler? explains why feed dimensions and the required bale must be considered together.

Provide the largest dimensions, thickness, alloy and contamination level. A machine selected for light sheet cannot automatically accept heavy solid sections. Ask for the approved feed specification rather than assuming all scrap metal is suitable.

Does a higher pressing force always produce a better bale?+

More force does not automatically mean a better bale. The contact area, pressing sequence and stiffness of the feed determine how that force acts, while spring-back affects the released package. Specify the required stable bale first. Only then compare the force and chamber combination using representative scrap.

For example: thin, springy sheet can require careful chamber control even though each piece is light, while a compact solid section can create a demanding local load. Neither case is described adequately by loose mass alone.

Compare machines using representative material and a defined finished bale. The objective is a stable package that meets handling and buyer requirements, not simply the largest force figure in a quotation.

Why does bale weight vary with the same machine?+

Bale mass changes because the package contains different metal and void proportions from one batch to another. A common chamber size cannot make aluminium and steel bales weigh the same. If a buyer requires a narrow mass range, combine a defined material stream with a repeatable loading method and appropriate weighing; do not rely on how full the chamber looks.

If the sale or handling limit depends on mass, establish an appropriate weighing method. A visually full chamber is not a weighing system.

State whether bale mass or dimensions are the main receiving requirement. Trials can establish a practical weight range for the actual scrap. Consistent loading and material separation improve repeatability, but a general catalogue weight should not be treated as universal.

How should bale density be evaluated?+

Calculate bale density from measured mass and the released bale's external dimensions, then assess whether that package is stable and acceptable. Density is a useful comparison only when the measurement stage is consistent. A chamber dimension under pressure can overstate the density of a springy bale after discharge.

Illustration: a bale measuring 0.5 m × 0.5 m × 0.5 m has an external volume of 0.125 m³. If its measured mass is 100 kg, the calculated bulk bale density is 800 kg/m³. These figures are an arithmetic example, not a promised bale specification.

A useful assessment also considers shape stability, loose edges, handling and the receiving furnace or recycler's requirements. Higher density is not the only goal if the package becomes unsuitable for handling or downstream processing. Agree the sampling and measurement method for acceptance.

How should finished metal bales be matched to transport and handling?+

Match the finished bale to the whole journey: lifting, storage, vehicle loading and receiver acceptance. A dense bale may still be impractical if it is too heavy for site equipment or its released dimensions do not suit the loading arrangement. Use an actual package and loading plan rather than deriving a universal shipment weight from chamber size.

Include post-discharge stability and spring-back in the assessment. Container or vehicle loading must consider actual package geometry and permitted load conditions. Do not promise a universal shipment weight from bale size without a complete loading plan.
