Description
The DILOYA Side Turn-Out Metal Baler is a hydraulic scrap compactor that forms loose metal into dense, rectangular bales. Its defining feature is the side turn-out discharge: after the compression cycle, a turn-out mechanism moves the completed bale out of the chamber for collection. This differs from a side push-out baler, which ejects the bale with a pushing ram. The appropriate discharge method depends on the site layout, handling equipment and required production flow.
1> How Side Turn-Out Baling Works
Prepared scrap is loaded into the chamber by a grab or other suitable equipment. The lid closes and hydraulic cylinders compact the charge in stages. Once the bale has reached the configured dimensions, the machine releases the compression and operates the turn-out mechanism to discharge the bale to the side. The chamber is then reset for the next load. Exact ram arrangement and cycle controls vary by model.
2> Suitable Metal Scrap
Typical material includes light and medium steel scrap, fabrication offcuts, stamping waste, wire, cans, aluminium profiles and selected copper or stainless steel scrap. Piece dimensions, thickness, hardness and contamination must be checked against the machine specification. Long, heavy or sealed objects should not be assumed suitable; oversized material may require prior cutting.
3> Operational Value
Baling removes empty space from loose scrap and produces packages that are easier to weigh, stack, move and ship. Side turn-out discharge gives a defined collection position beside the machine, which can be useful where a grab, forklift or conveyor serves the bale handling area. Consistent bale dimensions support yard organization and more predictable truck or container loading.
4> Choosing the Right Configuration
DILOYA selects chamber dimensions, compression force, bale size, hydraulic power, cooling, controls and turn-out arrangement from the customer's material mix and target throughput. The available floor area, loading direction, discharge clearance, electrical supply and downstream handling method should be reviewed before specifying a machine. Actual density and output depend on the feed material and final configuration.
Advantage
> Side turn-out discharge: the finished bale moves to a predictable collection point beside the chamber.
> Hydraulic compaction: staged compression turns loose scrap into more regular rectangular packages.
> Better yard organization: stackable bales reduce scattered material and simplify stock counting.
> Transport-ready handling: regular bale size supports loading, weighing and shipment planning.
> Material flexibility: suitable ferrous and selected non-ferrous grades can be baled after a feedstock review.
> Configurable operation: manual and automatic control options can be matched to the site's workflow.
> Serviceable construction: wear protection and maintenance access can be selected for the expected scrap duty.
> Project-specific sizing: chamber, force, bale dimensions and cooling can be matched to throughput and floor-space requirements.

Application
The DILOYA FM Series side turn-out baler can press below materials:

Aluminium Chips
Aluminium Chips are precision-processed from pure aluminum and aluminum alloy via CNC turning and milling. Strictly sorted, cleaned and dried, these chips feature uniform shape, low oxidation and zero sundry impurities. As premium recycled aluminum raw materials, they deliver stable metallurgical and physical properties, ideal for aluminum smelting, alloy production, chemical processing and thermal conduction applications with high cost performance.

Aluminium Turnings
Aluminium Turnings are lightweight, spiral-shaped metal chips generated during machining, drilling and milling. DILOYA briquetting and baling systems compact loose turnings into dense, manageable blocks, helping reduce storage volume, improve transport efficiency and support aluminium recovery.

Aluminium Profiles
Aluminium profiles and extrusion offcuts are long, hollow and difficult to stack efficiently. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress window frames, structural sections and production offcuts into dense, stable bales for safer handling, lower storage and transport costs, and consistent delivery to aluminium recyclers and remelting plants.

Aluminium Scrap
General aluminium scrap includes sheet offcuts, stampings, thin-gauge trimmings and mixed clean production pieces. DILOYA hydraulic aluminium scrap balers compress this loose material into dense, stable bales for efficient storage, safer handling, economical transport and consistent delivery to recycling and remelting plants.

Aluminium Wires
Aluminium wire scrap is long, flexible and easily tangled, making loose material difficult to stack, load and transport. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress clean aluminium wires and cable conductors into dense, stable rectangular bales for safer handling, compact storage and efficient delivery to aluminium recyclers and remelting plants.

Aluminium UBC
Aluminium UBC consists of lightweight used beverage cans collected from municipal, commercial and deposit-return streams. DILOYA hydraulic UBC balers compress sorted cans into dense, stable and stackable bales for efficient storage, economical transport and consistent delivery to aluminium can recycling and remelting plants.

Light Scrap Metal
Light scrap metal includes thin-gauge steel sheet, press-shop offcuts, panels and other bulky ferrous pieces. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress this loose, springy material into dense rectangular bales for controlled storage, efficient loading and economical transport. This application is intended for baling only.

Stainless Steel Scrap
Stainless steel scrap includes sorted sheet offcuts, press skeletons, wire, mesh and light fabrication remnants. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress this valuable but bulky material into dense, stable bales while supporting grade separation, safer handling, compact storage and efficient shipment to stainless recyclers and melting plants. This application is intended for baling only.

Steel Shavings
Steel shavings are long, curled machining residues that interlock into bulky nests and retain cutting fluid. DILOYA can compress foldable shavings directly into rectangular transport bales, or shred long tangled nests into short uniform feed before hydraulic briquetting. Process selection depends on shaving geometry, fluid content, required density and downstream furnace specifications.

Copper Wire
Copper wire scrap includes bare millberry wire, stripped cable, winding wire and flexible conductors that are springy and difficult to store loose. DILOYA hydraulic metal balers compress clean wire into dense rectangular bales for secure inventory, efficient handling, compact storage and economical shipment. This Copper&Brass Scrap application is intended for baling only.
FAQ
How do side-push, forward-out and turn-out bale discharge differ?+
Discharge direction determines where the receiving equipment and working clearance must be located. Side Push-Out Metal Baler, Forward-Out Metal Baler and Side Turn-Out Metal Baler illustrate distinct arrangements. Compare them against a scale yard layout, including the moving envelope and bale collection route, rather than choosing a preferred name before checking access.
- Side-push: assess the receiving area beside the machine.
- Forward-out: plan the collection route in the discharge direction.
- Turn-out: confirm the full moving and receiving envelope.
Use the actual arrangement drawing because names alone do not establish clearances or the approved collection sequence.
Select discharge around the yard layout and bale-handling method, not the name alone. Confirm the approved working envelope, bale support and machine sequence in the arrangement drawing. A preferred discharge direction is only practical if the receiving area can handle the package safely.
Why does a bale expand after discharge?+
Expansion after discharge is often elastic recovery, not evidence that the pressure gauge must be turned up. The extent depends on scrap stiffness, how the load is distributed and the approved pressing sequence. Evaluate the released dimensions and stability under the intended handling conditions before deciding whether preparation or a different arrangement is needed.
Check the approved pressing sequence, material distribution and bale requirements with the machine supplier. Do not improvise higher pressure or change protective settings. Representative post-discharge measurements are needed when final dimensions and stability are important to the buyer.
Do metal bales require wire or strapping?+
Whether a metal bale needs ties is a package-stability and receiving-specification question. Some approved scrap combinations form self-supporting bales; others need a defined restraint method. Assess the package after pressure is released and through handling. A compact appearance at the discharge point is not sufficient proof that restraint is unnecessary.
Confirm this during selection and testing. Never assume a package is stable because it looks compact immediately after pressing. Any tying or wrapping method must suit the machine, bale handling and downstream process, with the required consumables and operator tasks included in the scope.
Which loading method is suitable for a metal baler?+
Choose loading around the complete cycle: collection, presentation, chamber filling and the time the press waits for the next batch. The heaviest possible load is not always the most consistent one. If a conveyor is proposed, confirm the actual scrap envelope and interfaces; Steel Hinged Belt Conveyor provides relevant transfer-equipment context.
The useful loading comparison is not simply manual versus automatic. Check how scrap is collected, whether it needs repositioning, how each batch is presented and whether the next load can be prepared while the machine completes its cycle.
Include loading time in sustained-output testing when it is part of the agreed production boundary.
Check how consistently the chamber can be filled and whether loading limits the production cycle. The loading arrangement must avoid uncontrolled impact or unsuitable objects. Required guarding and working clearances should be part of the installation plan, not added as an afterthought.
How should finished metal bales be matched to transport and handling?+
Match the finished bale to the whole journey: lifting, storage, vehicle loading and receiver acceptance. A dense bale may still be impractical if it is too heavy for site equipment or its released dimensions do not suit the loading arrangement. Use an actual package and loading plan rather than deriving a universal shipment weight from chamber size.
Include post-discharge stability and spring-back in the assessment. Container or vehicle loading must consider actual package geometry and permitted load conditions. Do not promise a universal shipment weight from bale size without a complete loading plan.
